Western Branch High School Key Club Rings the Bells for the Salvation Army




On Saturday, December 3, 2011 the Western Branch High School Key Club served two hour shifts ringing the bells for the Salvation Army.  The place was the Wal-Mart Super Store at Chesapeake Square Shopping Mall.  They worked diligently from 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM collecting donations.  Their efforts helped the Salvation Army raise 
the necessary funds with which to serve the needs of our community.  Our Kiwanis Club of Churchland rang the bells on Friday, December 2, 2011 from 10.00 AM until 8:00 PM and December 3, 2011 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.  Together our two clubs collected $1,353.33 for the Salvation Army (Portsmouth Post) in those two days.

Kiwanis Club of Churchland is a service organization comprised of men and women from all walks of life.  Our objective is to bring aid to children in need.  The majority of our efforts benefit children in this community.  A portion of the funds that we raise go to help meet Kiwanis International objectives which focus on the special needs of young children from prenatal development to age five. 

We serve by sponsoring fund raising projects, which provide monetary support for children's programs and through personal involvement in the giving of our time and skills.  Anyone interested in serving others will feel very welcome here.
